The beginning of September was the start of my academic ventures. I took a total of four classes this semester that pertain to the field of international digital technology and operation management. Classes in Sogang started immediately and thus caused me to have culture shock as we were already doing class work on the first day. My campus is considered the smallest in Seoul Universities which was great for me as I was able to make it to classes on time and the commute was short. This was an advantage as Sogang University has a strict attendance policy in which if you miss 3 classes you automatically fail the class. This was a challenge as making plans with others became more difficult to do as it conflicted a lot with my schedule however, I am glad I went through this as it gave me a sense of responsibility and time management skills. My favorite class during this semester was K-pop and Culture studies as our advisor was the head of the international student exchange club so he made the class more fun and was very accommodating!

This month I and my friends went to notable locations to see in Seoul such as Gangnam, home to the Gangnam-style statue, Starfield Library, and Coex aquarium. I and my friends also saw the old big-hit building and visited BTS's old restaurant spot (as a former ARMY, it made me proud that I was eating where BTS was). Han River! Is a wonderful spot to enjoy the sea views as well as the calm yet lively scenery. We also took a trip to Namsan Tower where we saw the entire Seoul from above; unfortunately, it was raining so please always bring an umbrella! We also visited the HYBE Building which was a spark in me wanting to visit other entertainment companies. Later on, we took a trip to Itaewon which was very bright at nighttime. This was also the beginning of my museum era as I believe it is important to be aware of the culture that was built upon in Korea and to remain educated. The museums in Korea are typically free entry with optional paid exhibits so I highly recommend visiting and going to museum hopping as it was so much fun, and you are gaining so much knowledge for free!!

Day trip to Suwon: Me and my friends on a day trip to Suwon and I highly recommend leaving Seoul whenever you can to see the sights outside the city. Suwon is known for its natural preservation of traditional buildings as well as the beautiful sights at night. We visited various tourist attractions such as Lovely Runner locations and the Starfield Mall here. We also walked a ton of stairs to reach the lookout point and I will be the first to say it was well worth it as the view was spectacular. For context to getting to Suwon we took an outside bus for three hours which you can imagine was long! so please prepare any snacks and that all your electronics are charged. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and it prepared me to dip my foot into traveling long distances.
